Acrostic poem

I am learning how to write an acrostic poem.  I know that I start each sentence with a letter of the subject.  I wrote about myself. 

Bird pillow

For our Art Exhibition this year we learnt how to sketch a bird.  The final drawing was transferred onto calico and dye was added.  The bird was glued onto a pillow that Mrs Scott and Mrs Worsfold had sewn.  Don't they look great!

I am learning to sound out 3 letter words.

I am learning to say the first, middle and last sound in a word and then blend the sounds together to write the word.  This can help me in my reading and my writing.

"I can miss the words out if I do not know them.  I can look at the picture to give me a clue. " said Thomas

I am learning to write number sentences to 10

I am learning to write number sentences to 10 and use this knowledge, when I play games, to solve problems in my head.

"I can add numbers together.  I can take away numbers too." said Thomas

Mrs Worsfold said, "You were very lucky to have your Mum and Dad come in to see your work. You did a great job as the teacher."

We are learning to write for an audience and publish quality work to share.
